No, it's not what you think!
The apothecary jar in the powder room has been empty for almost 10 months, as I still hadn't decided what I was going to put in it. Originally, I would have loved to fill it with the gorgeously wrapped 'MOR' soaps, but I couldn't justify the $20 each price tag at the moment. Instead, I had a brilliant idea of making a small nest out of bits and pieces I had around, or left over from other things.
So, with a few white pebbles, a bundle of raffia, some left over moss and the small green eggs I bought last Easter, I made a nest.
I've also been very busy with my orders for butterfly frames, but I did manage to finish the large one for my Daughters' bedroom. Very girlie, and she loves it!

well I thought of the obvious too!!! I just love what you have done with the nesting idea. I couldn't justify cheap soap filling my two, let alone MOR soaps! I ended up with a variety of soft blue balls (I painted) mixed in with glittery balls and large pot pourie things from spotlight, they are so gorgeous next to my bath (ensuite) - but I love your idea - more than my idea actually - might steal it!!! As for the butterfly work, just divine, I see these things around a bit, and I know you do them, so when I see them I immediately think of you!! XX
Beautiful work Stormy. Your apothecary jar looks gorgeous made up too. I love your daughter's Butterfly frame. xox
I know you have filled your jars already, but for future reference, there is a store in the Spencer Street Station Shopping center (the old DFO) that sells cheap MOR stuff. It was near the Adairs outlet from memory, and had wrapped soaps for $10, or the unwrapped versions for $4.
LOL, thanks Annie! Feel free to steal my idea!
Thanks Lorraine!
That's great to know, April, cheers! Although they are filled, I do like to change things around a bit every so often, so next time I'm in the city, I'll go and check it out!
Very clever, Stormy!
I'm on a mission to get some decorating done on the cheap (shh!), and have been haunting homewares, discount and dedpartment stores, looking for the perfect "things". Trouble is, I keep seeing lovely things that make me think "Ooh, that would look perfect in Stormy's house".
Get out of my head! ;)
If you're ever in Moonee Ponds, I can tell you exactly where to look for some pretties.... LOL
Also... you probably shouldn't look at these:
