My Valentines Day gift was a trip out to Point Cook to see the last remaining display home of the Wilshire Mk3! It was very exciting, though, I must admit! Now our build is underway, it was fabulous walking through the house knowing that 'soon' it will be ours!
We went armed with the tape measure and camera, which enabled us to get a feel for where our furniture will go. There will be plenty of room in the lounge for our beautiful Toorak couches, plus an antique folding table and bentwood chairs against the window, plus a coffee table and another possibly 2 occasional tables for 'bits'! ;-)
I think the hall table may be slightly dwarfed...it is rather a large wide entrance hall, but once I have found the perfect mirror, wall lights either side, and various other 'bits' to put on the table, it should look fine. I am still considering having wall paper on the hall table wall of the entrance in very light subtle beige/gold stripes as a feature. I still have plenty of time to think about it...
We also discovered that 3 Ikea 'Expedit' shelving units will fit horizontally under the window in the upstairs TV area for the kids. We were originally going to get 2, but 3 would seem more sensible...more storage space! TV/DVD etc will sit on top nicely. They are on sale in their catalogue until August this year, so we will refrain from buying them just yet.
We received a phone call from one of the CSA's who has been looking after us since their 'disaster' with our file last year, and she let us know that slab pour day will be Wednesday this coming week! I'm guessing Monday will be creating the 'chocolate bar' look in sand for the slab base (no waffle pods), Tuesday will be form work, plastic and reo, ready for the slab pour on Wednesday!! We can't wait, as it is the foundations for our home we have waited so long for, and will finally seem like a reality! Lets hope all the drains etc are in the correct place and the slab is perfect!
...I can be hopeful, can't I? ;-)

Good luck with all the work - sounds like you will be very busy with this project, xv.
Wall paper sounds lovely!
Have fun on Wednesday!!!! You've been waiting along time for this day. Soak it up Stormy :-)
Thankyou Vicki and Toni, yes I have waited a long time! It still seems a bit surreal as it has taken forever. Our old demolished home is all but a distant memory. Had it happened quicker, it may have felt more real...
